Author’s note: This piece was written about a month ago and the voiceover is an update on how I feel today.
Dear Jewish artists, writers, teachers, and creators,
I don’t know about you, but I always hold my breath when I listen to or read about a Jewish-born, author or spiritual teacher’s stance on Israel. I silently pray that I will be aligned or find some validation that my nervous system won’t be fired up and I will have to flee. Even before October 7, I am jarred with the nuances of misalignment to the point where my nervous system goes into an adrenaline-infused spiral.
After all, it is in the traditional Jewish culture to argue, challenge, and seek understanding.
