With your boldness and truth you help others. Thank you for allowing us to be vulnerable with you. You are the sixth friend I have met in my life that had either a son or sibling that was diagnosed with schizophrenia, all Jewish people. There seems to an association of schizophrenia in Ashkenazi Jews. Because of our relative isolation over many centuries we have accumulated quite a few recessive hereditary disorders. Check out PubMed ( NIH) studies . Wishing you and your family continued strength and love.
Thank you Louise. I didn’t know about the research and with Ashkenazi heritage and this illness. I’m familiar with that pub so, thanks. I’ll check it out.
Your message deepens my understanding of schizophrenia, and what you and your family have had to navigate and endure these past 7 years. Thank you Shelley for helping all of us awaken to this aspect of neurodiversity and for spearheading the de-stigmatizing of schizophrenia. Xo Rita
You have come a long way in your family’s journey to navigate through this diagnosis. You have done a phenomenal job with him. I know how hard this has been for your family. I want you to know how much we love you all and miss you. Please hug and kiss everyone. ❤️ Charlotte
So eloquently stated . Thank you for speaking up . We need awareness not shame. Beautiful and vulnerable and very very important information for all. Thank you for being brave . You are not alone . ❤️
I am deeply touched by your vulnerability in sharing your journey with your son. What a gift your sharing is for any parent who has a neurodivergent child. We all need each other. ❤️
